The 360 body lift (also called a circumferential tummy tuck or lower body lift) is a unique procedure that removes excess skin from the abdomen, hips, and buttocks. The result is a more toned and slimmer look throughout the entire torso.
Circumferential tummy tuck
A circumferential tummy tuck is similar to a standard tummy tuck except that it also removes excess tissue through the hips & buttocks. This is an especially useful procedure for those who have lost a considerable amount of weight and are left with loose skin throughout these areas.
The surgery is completed under general anesthesia and uses an incision made around the lower body at hip level, which is why the procedure is also known as a “belt lipectomy.”
After a circumferential tummy tuck, you can expect some swelling and discomfort. Drains will likely be placed and compression garments will be required. During this initial healing period, you will likely be prescribed pain medication. Most patients will require a drain for about a week after the surgery. Usually, the time for recovery is 2-3 weeks. Strenuous activity, including exercise, should be avoided for several weeks after surgery.
The specific details of your recovery period will vary depending on the extent of your surgery. Dr. Erella will give more detailed instructions and advice during your consultation and at any following appointments.
