Smart Lipo is a form of laser body contouring. It can treat many different areas on the body such as the arms, back, neck, waist, abdomen, hips and thighs. Liposuction is one of the most effective and popular plastic surgery procedures available today. However, many people are hesitant to commit to having the procedure done until they know what to expect from the surgery and the recovery period. If you have questions about getting liposuction, such as “Will fat come back after smart lipo?”, keep reading to learn more about how liposuction will affect your body.
How much fat can liposuction remove?
The amount of fat that is removed varies from patient-to-patient. Typically, no more than 4 to 5 liters of fat can be removed from your body safely. This however varies from patient to patient. If patients wish to have more than that removed then the liposuction treatment will be divided into two different sessions. Because of this, liposuction is best suited for people who are almost at their goal weight, but who struggle to shift those last few pounds.
Will fat come back after Smart Lipo?
The fat that is removed using Smart Lipo is not a permanent solution for the area treated. If you do start to gain weight, fat cells from a treated area can increase in size from gaining weight, and ultimately come back to the area that was treated in a Smart Lipo procedure.
How Long is Liposuction Recovery?
After your liposuction procedure, your surgeon will fit you with a compression garment to help reduce any swelling and bruising that may occur. Most patients will see bruising and swelling following the procedure but this should gradually reduce on its own. For the first couple of days following the treatment activity will need to be monitored, many patients can return to work 4-5 days after the procedure but strenuous activity should be reduced for about 10-14, or until cleared by your doctor.
Liposuction is a common and safe way to sculpt your body and achieve the silhouette you’ve always wanted. However, you should expect to spend at least three to four weeks recovering after your surgery. The Smart Lipo technique used by Dr. Erella at Aspira Plastic Surgery has given many great, long-lasting results.
