Called traction ripples, the lines that form in the breast skin are the visible edges of the saline implant. These lines are typically caused by the breast tissue over the implant being too thin.
When the breast implant is placed over the muscle, rippling is much more likely than when the implant is below it. Thus, the revision breast surgery technique used to solve it is often moving the implant to below the muscle. Depending on the root cause of the rippling, adding volume to the implants may also solve the issue.
