During the initial consultation, Dr. Erella evaluates the patient’s anatomy and aesthetic goals, explains different labiaplasty techniques, and discusses potential risks and complications. Based on the physical examination and other information, the doctor determines if the person is a good candidate for surgery. Next, the patient undergoes lab testing, such as blood work, urinalysis, and chest X-ray (in some cases).
Dr. Erella also provides instructions for the preoperative period regarding medications, diet, smoking, and alcohol use. Patients should arrange transportation home from the surgical facility and have someone to help during the initial recovery period. We also recommend preparing and freezing foods that can be easily cooked.
